Is the regular SVD too long for you? Are bullpup guns rather your thing? Did they make the coolest movies and guns in the nineties? If you answered yes to all of these, this airsoft gun is made just for You!
The actual manufacturer of the gun is Jing Gong, but it is usually seen with the license of Airsoft Pioneer. The Jing Gong SVU-AS uses a Real Sword/CYMA type SVD gearbox and hop-up unit. Nevertheless, we are not completely sure about the compatibilities of the parts, so use caution! The materials are mainly metal, but the receiver cover and some of the small parts are made of steel. The handguard and pistol grip are plastic. The battery space fits most stick type batteries, from our collection at least the Battery Ram 7.4 V, 8.4 V and 9.6 V stick batteries. In addition, the 11.1 V stick battery fits, but this more powerful battery will make you lose your warranty for this gun! There is also room in the battery space under the barrel for a MOSFET unit. Under the barrel there are also bipods, however they don’t have any special adjustment settings. At the front, under the muzzle break/silencer complex there are standard 14 mm CCW threads. The inner barrel goes well beyond the threads inside the silencer.
Anyone who wants some extra magazines should turn to CYMA, because the SVD magazines fit perfectly for this gun.
The SVU and SVU-AS in the real world
The real SVU and SVU-AS were born in the beginning of the 1990’s as a result of the SVD modernization project. Compared to the original SVD, the gun went through a surprising amount of changes in addition to the obvious transition to the bullpup configuration. The barrel of the gun was shortened by 10 cm, a muzzle break and a silencer were added to the front, the sights were made higher and foldable so that it would be easier to aim with the gun after the line of sight rose. In addition, the AS model got bipods. The sight mount was also moved to the front and higher. Nevertheless, the feel of the gun stayed surprisingly SVDish and Russian-like. The SVU and SVU-AS both saw some pretty decent use in the first Chechnya war at the same time as Finland was celebrating its first World Championship in Ice Hockey. However, the SVUs are not in widespread use partly because of some reliability issues and the economic problems in 90’s Russia.
Remember to get a suitable battery and charger
Battery and charger are not included with this gun. To make sure the warranty of your gun is valid, you may use 7.4V LiPo or 8.4V and 9.6V NiCd/NiMH batteries with a maximum capacity of 3100mAh. Using a battery with a higher nominal voltage or capacity voids the warranty.

Each gun individually tested by us:
The functionality of all our guns is tested and the muzzle velocity measured before shipping. The velocity is measured with a 0.20 g BB and the final muzzle velocity is calculated from the average of five (5) shots. In fact, the muzzle velocities you see in our online shop are approximations reported by the supplier or manufacturer. Thus, the actual muzzle velocity of your gun may differ from the approximation upwards or downwards. However, we always mark the final muzzle velocity on the maintenance and user manual provided with the gun.
